A Traveler’s Christmas List

Travelers are always hard to shop for because all they want is money to fund their travels. Here are a few items that I have found to be big hits when it comes to gifts for travel junkies.

  1. Camera Lens for iPhone – These are great for anyone that wants to take good photos while traveling without using a digital camera. The small case can fit into any purse/bag. It’s easy to quickly snap the lens onto the phone before taking some photos.
  2. Travel Cubes – I was skeptical about these at first. They seemed a little unnecessary but I gave them a shot and loved them! I am such a neat freak and these helped my suitcase stay organized and clutter free. Not to mention they save lots of space which comes in handy for a long trip.
  3. Oil Painting of Travel Memory – Last year I was really struggling with what to get Mickey for Christmas. We normally get each other “experiences” such as concert tickets or take a trip but I wanted to get him something more tangible. Our favorite place we visited on our trip to Europe was a little city in northern Croatia called Rovinj. We fell in love with it and decided we will keep going back as much as we can. I decided to get him an oil painting of the classic view of the city, the buildings lining the ocean. He absolutely loved it! We just recently got it framed and hung. I love this gift idea because although it is expensive, it’s something him and I will have forever and will always remind us of our first trip to Europe together. The link will take you to the Etsy page I ordered the painting from. Mabel was very sweet and easy to work with. I sent her photos of the landscape I wanted her to paint and even asked her to add something in for us. The painting is gorgeous and looks exactly like the photos!
  4. Backpack Duffle Bag – This is my favorite bag for traveling. Depending on the size you can fit a ton in it without the hassle of wheeling it around. Having the freedom of a backpack rather than a rolling bag makes it very easy to hop around while traveling.
  5. Portable Charger – Portable chargers are a must while traveling and exploring all day. Phones are used for midday research, Maps/directions, taking photos, etc. Not to mention you never want to be stuck in a foreign country without a cell phone for emergencies.
  6. Travel Books – I love hardcover books around the house for decoration but I feel guilty spending money on them because I never actually read them. I received the book ‘1,000 Places to See Before You Die’ as a gift and loved it! I have spent lots of time reading it and have gotten tons of traveling ideas. My favorite part of the book is the index that is sorted into categories such as “bars/restaurants”, “castles”, “museums”, etc.
  7. Jewelry Case – Jewelry is so hard to travel with because its constantly getting tangled or lost. A travel case allows separate compartments
  8. Airline Gift Card – Although gift cards can seem a little less personal or thoughtful, a travel junkie would love to receive and airline gift card to fund their next trip!
  9. Airbnb/VRBO Gift Card – Again, this is a great way to help a traveler out with funding some of their travels. They will always need a place to stay so no doubt this gift card will come in handy.
  10. A Staycation – Especially during these pandemic times, the wanderlust is at an all-time high and travelers are itching to explore. A staycation in your hometown or a nearby city is the perfect way to give your loved one a taste of travel without going far.
